Rant/Rave to Obama: Pump Your Brakes

Barack.  Barack, Barack, Barack.

What are you doing?

I know you think W. took some pot shots at you during his address of the Knesset, Israel's governing body.  He used terrible words like "appeasement" and "Nazi" and that set you off like a terrier after a car alarm went off.  Don't take the bait with so much at stake.

 DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT.

You're not entirely done with this fight with the Clintons, you're already prepping to do battle with McCain, and now you're goig after the president.  This is a very easy way to spread yourself too thin on foreign fronts and find yourself woefully unable to adequately defend home.  Wait...where have I seen that happen before?

Bush said to the Israelis the only few things a Republican can say to them right now -  Terrorists, Perserverance, and...NAZI.  What better way to get some applause?

To tell the truth, Bush insinuating these things about you to the Knesset doesn't really mean much. No disrespect to the Israelis, but it's not like the next American president will be expected to answer to the leaders of another nation.  Especially when that nation's very survival depends on maintaining a very healthy diplomatic relationship with the U.S.  This is not to diminish the importance of an ally like Israel, but they're one Blood living in a Crip neighborhood - you don't alienate your friends in a situation like theirs.

Besides, isn't Bush providing you with even more stability for your platform by showing that the only way our current administration can get any love in this world is  to preach to the converted/captive audience?  The fact that he had to go to another country to be heard in any sort of respectful manner clearly illustrates the need for change and shows how much respect the Bushies have cost our government and our country not only domestically, but abroad as well.

Barack, just pump the brakes and calm down.  You've got a huge fight ahead of you and these distractions seem to always arrive with a timing that to rival the Swiss.  Let W. go abroad and speak to his true constituents, whose interests he has dutifully protected, because we know he doesn't represent us.  Next stop on his farewell tour?  Probably Saudi Arabia.
